Just what McCain needs. I guess Cindy is getting on in years. But I digress.
I at first thought McCain made a smart choice in going with a woman. Then I realized I was falling into the same condescending world view that made him pick her in the first place. It's the worst male chauvinism there is - it's so subtle, you're not aware it's happening. And as much as I dislike Hillary, Palin is no Hillary Clinton. (Note to self: I wrote this before I read Collins' column today - pinky swear.)
And I hope the Obama campaign acts like she doesn't exist - she's not worth paying attention to. At least that's where I am today. If they keep claiming she has more experience than Obama, I may actually flip out.
I pray women across the country vote smart - if you support McCain, vote for him - but don't go from supporting Hillary to voting for McCain because he chose Palin. The morons in this article are enough to raise any outrage levels. But I'm not going to let that interfere with my Labor Day weekend in my new home. Will wait for the Republican National Convention to do that next week. May post the top 5 daily outrages from Minesota. Should be easy to find.
Outrage is a good thing. It means you still care. For my daily outrage, stop by when you can.

Bill of Whose Rights?
No new outrage here. This laptop seizure has been going on for years but I'm just amazed at what the people of this country are willing to live with. And what's up with the Ninth Circuit? How's the saying go: evil thrives when good people do nothing...sigh.
My Dream Job
I am very happy where I work right now. I like what I do and I love the people I work with. After a career of changing jobs every few years (which is not unusual in the news biz), it's nice to want to stay in one place for a while.
But all that said, if I were to be offered a job writing for the Daily Show - now that would be an opportunity of a lifetime. Not to mention my giant crush on Jon Stewart. But that's just gravy.

Three More Months to Go
Worth reading Dionne's column today about McCain and Obama. While I don't pay attention to pre-Labor Day speculation, he's got the right perspective here. And the more McCain uses the same old playbook, the better Obama will do in November.
What Took Me So Long?
Don't know why I didn't realize this before - but no wonder the Summer Olympics are so popular. It's almost like free porn when you look at how little clothing most of the athlete's wear. With the exception of some of the male swimmers who competed against Phelps in the 400 - and I think they had bigger chests than some of the female swimmers later that night. But that's probably just me, right?
Five More Months to Go
Seriously. George Bush moralizing...about invading another country? He's worried about Russia's standing in the world? Seriously?
Happy Birthday Clink!
If it's your birthday...
Happy birthday, Leo! You are a mover and shaker and have the charisma to attract people of power. You inspire others, and this will be relevant over this next year. This year, heartfelt dreams can be set on the road to fulfillment.

I Miss My Blog
Well - in a nutshell: I closed on my new house in Stamford, CT on July 17. I moved on July 29. I stopped hyperventilating around August 6. So now I'm back, inspired by this must-read article from the Onion.
